On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join a well established, locally rooted engineering firm based in British Columbia. This opportunity is being advertised in Toronto to connect with professionals who may be open to relocating for a long term career opportunity on the West Coast.

This practice has been operating for over two decades and is known for delivering practical, timely, and cost effective structural engineering solutions across residential, commercial, and light industrial projects throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions. The firm has built long standing relationships with developers, builders, municipalities, and private clients, resulting in a stable and consistently busy workload.

What You Will Do

• Lead structural design for wood frame multi family residential and mixed use projects, with exposure to steel, concrete, and tilt up construction
• Coordinate with internal team members, external consultants, and clients throughout all design phases
• Review shop drawings for compliance with structural drawings and the BC Building Code
• Support construction phase activities and provide practical, practical solutions to site related challenges
• Perform field reviews and prepare written reports
• Review field reviews completed by EITs and technicians
• Mentor and support junior engineers and emerging professionals
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation

What We Are Looking For

• P.Eng designation with eligibility for registration in British Columbia
• 8+ years of experience in structural engineering
• Strong background in wood frame multi family residential design
• Experience with steel, concrete, and tilt up buildings considered an asset
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Strong communication skills and confidence in client facing environments
• Valid driver’s licence
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast paced, team oriented setting
